A long day
Nov. 27th, 2007 10:21 pmAfter work we had the follow up meeting for the Nordmark Coronet tourney and MÃ¥rtens feast held together with Torsheim.
It took 2,5 hours and even tough I normally dont like meetings and especially long ones this one was actually quite good.
Next tuseday its time for the first of the double wars meetings. Im really looking forward to that event too. Its going to be a great time.
In general things worked ot great and no guests saw the chaos that always is behind the scene. Everything worked out fine even tough the site is a nightmare to serve 120 people at. The kitchen is located 300 meters away from the castle. Cobbled stones so you have to be carefull when you drive stuff to the castle otherwis you will end up with a car filled with food.
I had a great time at the event, I put my mind to stay in the kitchen on the saturday so I was prepared for a lot of hard work. Managed to get through the day with only one small burn and no cuts to my fingers. Wich given the amount of cutting I did is a small miracle.
We chose to go with few courses but make sure everybody got a lot of food. Since the event was in november everybody needs more energy to stay warm. We knew we would have a lot of guests 120 people is the about the limit of how many you can fit into the great hall. So basically we went for a few simple courses that could be prepared as much as possible. Wich is way harder to do when you dont have access to a restaurant kitchen. But it worked out quite ok.
Hard work makes you happy.
This is natural.
